Father’s Day is coming up and this year I have my eye on sporting goods for hubs. He loves to fish and camp and just be outside in general, and Bubbles has become increasingly interested in those things, too. I thought it would be appropriate for her gifts for Daddy to be things they can do together.

One of my choices may be this 8-person tent. I have lots of great memories with my Dad when our family would go camping (our idea of “roughing it” was a camper, though) and my husband went actual tent camping a ton when he was younger. Bubbles seems keen on the idea, so maybe we could start with a backyard sleep out and work up from there.
Another thing I might get for him would be a new rod and reel. When he was younger he actually fished in bass fishing competitions and has a few trophies and plaques. He doesn’t have as much time for that these days, but a new rod and reel and the suggestion to take his friend John out on the water for an afternoon might be an awesome Father’s Day present.

I would love to get my hubby a boat, but in the real world a new rod and reel would do. He waited a long time to be a dad and then we were blessed with our adopted daughter. Time has passed and he hasn’t fished as much as he would have liked to, but I am sure being with our daughter he didn’t miss it that much.

I’d have to say something from their Goal Zero or solar collection. I love the idea of being able to use the sun’s energy from a hot hot day for more than just giving us sunburns. And Dad likes that idea too :).
