You may remember a few weeks ago when I shared how when I was younger Hickory Farms had often been part of our holiday traditions. Even though our Signature Pantry Planner box is pretty much gone now, I’ll be picking up another gift box for our trip to the in-laws on Christmas Eve. Tradition is tradition, after all, right?
When you’re considering your own family’s Christmas traditions this year I encourage you to make donations of time or money one of them. This is an especially hard time of year for those who already struggle; they could definitely benefit from a little Christmas magic. Plus giving back makes you feel good so it’s a win-win situation.
We’ve always done an angel tree of some sort, whether it was for kids or senior citizens. This year, though, I wanted to include Bubbles more so we shopped for a few toys to drop off with one of the toy collection groups. This opened up a lot of great conversation with her and I was a proud Mama to see what a kind heart she displayed.
Hickory Farms makes charitable giving part of their tradition, too, as they support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. To date, Hickory Farms and their customers have raised more than $3.3 million. These contributions help provide funding for summer meal programs, emergency food assistance, nutrition education, holiday charitable giving and long-term solutions for families in need.
For each Party Planner gift box sold this holiday season, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to the Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign. They also have five products that they offer with free shipping to military APO and FPO addresses, including the “Festive Cheese Sampler” gift basket and “Beef Hearty Hickory” basket. As Austin just recently swore in with the Guard and he may be gone over Christmas next year; being able to send him a little piece of home with no shipping is appreciated.
