I was adopted by my parents when I was only a few weeks old. I was born towards the end of March, and by the middle of April, I was home with them.
My parents never tried to hide the situation from me. I know it can be a tricky thing to explain to kids, but I remember being aware from a very young age of how I came to be part of my family. And while I am technically adopted, I’ve never thought of myself as anything other than my parents’ child.
Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®
Having had an extremely positive experience with adoption, I’m a big supporter of the concept. And I love that Wendy’s®, one of our favorite fast food chains, is also. In 1990, Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy’s®, accepted President George H.W. Bush’s invitation to be the spokesperson for a national adoption awareness campaign. Just two years later, Dave established The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption® as a non-profit public charity with one primary goal: to help every child in foster care find a loving, permanent family.
Thanks to Wendy’s® consumers and the 4,000+ children have found adoptive families. They’re making it really easy to continue to show your support and help the remaining 100,000+ children in foster care that are awaiting adoptive families. Just stop into your local Wendy’s® and purchase the Halloween Coupon books.
Each book costs just $1 and ninety cents of each dollar goes to the Foundation. The books are filled with Jr. Frosty coupons which are great to tuck into Halloween treat bags, to give the kiddos for a treat now and then, or just to stick in your wallet for those times you’re craving a cool treat.
The books are available now through October 31st, so be sure to visit your local Wendy’s® to purchase a Jr. Frosty™ Halloween Coupon Book* for $1, which benefits the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®!
