Have you ever had anyone give a little sniff and ask you, “What’s that smell?”. And you have no idea, because you can’t smell it? If you’ve found yourself in this situation, you may be suffering from noseblindness!
What, exactly, is noseblindness? Well, over time, we all become accustom to the odors around us. Odors from various activities – like baking, for example – can stay airborne or cling to soft surfaces. When the odors stick around, they start to blend in, leaving you “nasally challenged” to your own environment.
I was curious as to how fast this phenomenon can set in, so when we went up to visit Ashley in Indianapolis this past weekend, I took note of any odors I thought that I could detect, and asked her to do the same. She really couldn’t name any specific scents, but I could pick up on the scented candle she had in the dining room.
Later, we popped some popcorn to nosh on while we watched TV. That was an odor you could easily identify! Even after a few hours, it still lingered in the air. So shortly before we started to pack up to leave, I set out some of the Febreze products I had stashed in my bag. Soon what we all smelled was “clean”; the Febreze candle had done it’s job of eliminating odors.
I was already familiar with the odor-eliminating power of Febreze Fabric Refresher – especially on furniture – as we’ve been using it for years. But now with the addition of Febreze candles, Noticeables, and Air Effects, I have an entire suite of products to counteract noseblindness and make my home smell fresh and clean.
Want to win a Febreze prize pack to take your own noseblind challenge? One person will receive:
- $60 AMEX Gift Card
- 1 Febreze Air Effects
- 1 Febreze Fabric Refresher
- 1 Febreze Noticeables with refill
- 1 Febreze Candle
