Over the years I’ve tried hundreds of different hair care products. Partly because I love trying new products, and partly because I sort of have an issue with volume. And by “sort of have an issue” I mean it took the better part of a can of hair spray and more than one package of bobby pins to get my prom look to stay in place.
I had the chance to try a few new hair care products lately, products by Suave®, Dove®, and TRESemmé®. I was especially excited when I saw one of them – the Dove® Oxygen Moisture – was specifically formulated for flat hair. The other two looked interesting, also, with promises for smoother, shinier hair.
Dove® Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture
I tried the Dove® first, because many products have promised to give me lift where genetics has not, but most of them – no pun intended – fall flat. For me it did provide some body, more than I normally have. But it also had the bonus of providing some moisture to my hair without weighing it down, and tamed my flyaways which are always plentiful during the cold winter months.
TRESemmé® Expert Selection Keratin Smooth
The travel-size Keratin Smooth 7 day starter set includes a shampoo, conditioner, and treatment. It’s kind of like having your own little salon blow-out-in-a-box. I love the smoothness it provided, again really helping out with the toll the winter takes on my hair.
Suave® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil
For years I’ve been hearing great things about Moroccan argan oil. The Styling Oil is salon proven to moisturize, smooth and restore your hair’s natural shine, and it definitely left my hair with significantly more shine than it normally would have. You just smooth it on after you wash your hair, then style as usual.

I get keratin treatments at the salon, so I have to use special products in my hair. These all sound like great products, though
I love Moroccan oil! The price point of this brand is probably a bit wallet friendlier than my current brand preference. I’ll have to give it a try!
I LOVE TRESemme, they’re one of my favorite store brands. I feel that it’s one of the ones that gets my hair as close to salon without actually buying salon shampoo at higher prices.

I use an oil to help detangle my hair as well. Since it’s very curly, it tangles easy and the oil makes my hair shine as well.
I think I’m going to try the Dove Oxygen Moisture next time I need shampoo. I definitely need the lift!

I love Moroccan oil! I’ve never uses the Suave type, but I have used other brands. It’s great for curly and straight hair, so that is definitely the product I would try.

Walgreens always has stellar deals in their beauty dept. I stocked up on moroccon oil shampoo when I was there last!
