Bubbles has always loved music, as I think most kids do.  As she gets older, though, she seems to enjoy it more and more.  Part of our morning routine is dancing and singing together, whether it’s to the theme songs of her favorite cartoons, country music videos on TV, or music streamed from my phone over our speakers.

When the GiggleBellies offered to send us a collection of their award-winning GiggleBellies Musical Adventures music videos on DVD, I said yes, thinking these would be right up Bubbles’ alley.  I hadn’t heard of them before, but I thought they’d be cute little videos, a fun distraction in the middle of all this cold, snow, and ice.  They ended up being so much more!

GiggleBellies DVD 3-Pack and Peanuts the Elephant

To say that Bubbles loves these videos is an understatement.  I was on my way out the door when the package arrived, but when I returned home, my husband said she’d already watched all three of the included DVDs, one of which was a collection of lullabies.  Each disc has anywhere from 9 to 13 animated videos done in 3D, and each one is about 2-3 minutes or so.

Of all the DVDs, Volume 2 is my favorite.  It has many songs I remember from my own childhood, and it’s been so much fun reliving them with Bubbles.  The track list includes:

  • Down by the Bay
  • Busy Bumble Bee
  • Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes
  • Colors of the Rainbow
  • If You’re Happy and You Know It
  • Itsy Bitsy Spider
  • The Really Cool Space Team
  • Mr. Sun
  • Working on the Railroad
  • Bucky
  • Eat ‘Em All Up
  • All the Little Raindrops
  • Fly Away with Me

Bubbles and I had already been practicing the “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” song, so it was great to have the reinforcement of the video to follow.  And she already knew the Itsy Bitsy Spider.  But we’ve learned lots of new favorites from watching.

One of our favorite songs from the GiggleBellies Volume 2 DVD is “Down by the Bay”.  We sing it together, and it has Bubbles in stitches with funny combinations like a pig wearing a wig and a cow mooing meow.  Randomly she’ll come up to me during the day and ask, “Have you ever seen a fly, wearing a tie?” and collapse into giggles.

The GiggleBellies also sent us an adorable plush Peanut the Elephant, one of the characters from the videos.  Bubbles can be either hit-or-miss sometimes when it comes to stuffed buddies, but she immediately adopted him.  I’m not all that surprised – he’s absolutely adorable, as bright and colorful as the videos themselves.

There are fun extras on each volume, also.  You can download coloring pages and lyric sheets, and even make your own CDs with the included mp3s.  We haven’t had a chance to burn them yet, but I definitely plan to; the songs will be great for the car, especially road trips this summer.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about the GiggleBellies Musical Adventures DVDs.  If you have preschoolers, I think they’ll love them.  And I have a special promo code for you!  Use promo code mom2014 to get 10% off your orders through March 31, 2014.
