This is a sponsored post. I am a Sears blogger, though all opinions are my own.
We have lots of organization projects ahead of us this year. My office, Bubbles’ bedroom, the garage, the kitchen cabinets. That’s what I can think of just off the top of my head, but there are more, I know.
As part of our organization plan, we’ll be searching for a few new pieces of furniture, too. Bubbles needs a new dresser and chest of drawers, and something to house her books.
We’ll be searching through the Sears Furniture Collection as part of our hunt for the perfect pieces. From traditional to modern, the 2014 collection truly does have something for everyone. The hardest part will be choosing your favorites!
After browsing the 2014 Sears Furniture Collection Lookbook my personal wish list of items is starting to grow. The Emerald Home Pier Unit Shelves and Drawer Natural Elm has kind of a beachy or cabin feel to it, which I like. And I really like the color and lines of the Jackson Perez Cocktail Table.
My other favorite is the dining table and chairs on the last page of the lookbook. We’ve been talking for a long time about getting a tall, square table for our dining area. I’ve always loved the look and so has hubby, and now we actually have the right space for that kind of table.
Design Inspiration
If you’re trying to decide what changes to make to your own spaces this year, consider the following:
- Storage – Do you need extra storage? Look for lift-top ottomans, bed frames with pull-out drawers, etc.
- Color – Know you want to change up your color palette, but aren’t sure what to choose? Think about an object or piece of art you absolutely love, and choose colors from there.
- Livability – That coffee table I mentioned above? Totally love it. Couldn’t have it right now, though, because those corners look sharp, and sharp + toddler = oh my no. Choose pieces that work for where you are in life right now.
- Pull It Together – A few throw pillows, a cool rug, a painting or other accessories. You can really tie your look together with a few pieces that have the same colors, textures, or types of patterns.
Where do you find design inspiration?

I love looking through home magazine to get ideas, especially for kids rooms. I’ve found a lot of unique and fun organizing solutions that way.
My mother has an eye for decorating, but that comes from he going to art school. She taught me a thing or two about accessorizing & that’s a good thing – because otherwise I would be sitting here in a beige room
I never knew that Sears had so much to offer in the home decor and furniture area. This year I am hoping to re-do my bedroom and work on organization in my daughter’s bedroom. It’s helpful to know that Sears has what I need at affordable prices!
Sears sells furniture now wow I have not been in sears for a while last thing we bought there was grill. I may need to go and browse around.
I’ve always had to rely on my sister or my best friend for their eye for decorating, because apparently I don’t have it. Sears has some great furniture.
lookbooks are always my favorite. It reminds me of being a kid with the Toys R Us Catalog and highlighting everything I ever had an interest in…. so many beautiful things!
For some reason I’ve never even thought about looking at Sears for furniture!
I totally didn’t know that Sears sold furniture until someone mentioned it the other day. From the images their furniture looks gorgeous!
i need a fun new splash of color in our living room. i’m so frustrated with the layout of the room at least color will help!
A bit of color definitely can make a big impact, yes! I’m not crazy about the shape of our living room, either, but accessories help
I had no clue Sears had furniture but I’m glad to find out because I love Sears prices! I usually find decor ideas from magazines and Pinterest. I really need more storage space so I’d love to be able to have shelves or drawers within the bed frame. I’d also love a sectional like the 3 piece Westin collection from Sears.
I’m always looking for design inspiration. It’s easy to slack off in the department, so thank you for the tips!
I find inspiration through magazines and Pinterest. I’ve recently found HGTV magazine and it’s one of my favorites!
I love HGTV Magazine, too, Jaime! And of course, I don’t think any of us would want to live without Pinterest – so many great ideas!
Our sears just closed here, I had no idea they had furniture! I wish ours was still around. I always lived shopping there!
I really want to redecorate our living room this year, we have had the same furniture since 2008! I love looking at everything in the Sears collection, I have a pretty big wish list going!
I find my inspiration thru other blogs and definitely pinterest! I will have to look at sears from now on!
I really want to add some accessories and give things a fresh look this year. I need to update badly!
I find design inspiration all over. From food (color) to building (texture) It’s amazing what you can be inspired by. Which is a good thing cause I need to redesign a few area at home.
I love all three collections. The middle on has my favorite colors. But the third one is more me in the style. I wish I could remodel my livingroom…
One thing I never seem to have enough of is storage space. I could definitely use furnishings that have more functionality.
Great inspiration! I definitely want a lift top ottoman for our basement.
I have always loved shopping at Sears and finding out that they offer furniture is just a bonus. That traditional collection would go great in my home.
Um, yes! Storage is a HUGE issue here in my home!! We had a pull up mattress in our RV and it was so nice, actually.
We have a small house so I’m always trying to find ways to maximize storage. Lift top ottomans and coffee tables with built in storage offer ways to maximize space.
I have been a customer of Sears for years. I normally go there to buy tools or clothes. I will be checking out their furniture options now!
We love shopping at Sears too! Thanks for the design tips!
