Thank you to Disney Junior for providing us with a copy of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Quest for the Crystal Mickey. All opinions are 100% that of myself and Bubbles.
Bubbles as you probably know by now is, shall we say, a little mad for the mouse. She could say Mickey and Minnie before she could say Austin and Ashley. When we see commercials for visiting Walt Disney World on TV she stops, points, and says “It’s Mickey’s house!” So when we recently had the opportunity the preview a copy of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Quest for the Crystal Mickey we were pretty excited, to say the least.
We’re regular watchers of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I love when they do specials like this one. Bubbles is getting to where she’s more content to sit and watch a longer show, and the specials generally run right around an hour. This gives you a little longer to get involved in the story, also. And for this one in particular, as an Indy fan, I like the nod to the most recent Indiana Jones film of a similar name.
In Quest for the Crystal Mickey that pesky ‘ole Plunderin’ Pete has snagged the Crystal Mickey from Mickey’s Clubhouse. The statue is the source of the Clubhouse’s magic and without it, the Clubhouse will disappear forever. Kansas City Mickey can’t let that happen and so he will journey with his friends across the Sandy Dessert, the Rushing River, and the Hidden Jungle. Along the way they’ll need a few Mouseketools to stay free of Pete’s tricky traps.
Bubbles really enjoyed watching the friends work together to return the Crystal Mickey. At some points she would get up and go to the screen so she could point different things out to me. When the show ended, I could tell she was disappointed that it was over. Mostly I could tell because she kept saying “More, Mama! More Mickey, plllllease?” Fortunately – that wasn’t really the end! The DVD contains four additional episodes:
- Donald of the Desert
- Donald the Genie
- Goofy’s Coconutty Monkey
- Goofy’s Giant Adventure
All together there is just over 2 hours of fun Mickey Mouse Clubhouse content. It also comes with a free Adventure Activity Map and stickers. It will be a great way to spend a rainy summer day or to pop into your portal DVD player on your next road trip (maybe to see Mickey in person?). The DVD released on May 21st so you can pick yourself up a copy from Amazon or your local big box store.
