All of the items on my shopping list are slowly getting crossed off. I’m not as done today as I was at this same time last year, but I’m not worried. I know what I need, I just need to get out there and get it. I don’t really know why I’m behind, though; our list only grew by one name. That name is Gus, my father-in-law’s dog that was his Christmas present last year.
I decided to hit up Meijer and see if I could find not only some treats for Gus but also to see if I could knock a few stocking stuffers off my list. Meijer has pretty much everything from groceries to automotive to pets to toys to personal care – and everything in between. I figured that with such a wide variety of options, I’d be sure to find something for Gus and at least a few stocking stuffers.
And I did! I was actually really surprised at the amount of pet options they had. In addition to the regular aisles of pet products there were bins set up in the open areas with extra goodies. Many of the bins had seasonal pet products, like the adorable Rudolph, Abominable Snowman, and Clarice chew toys. I love that they also have pet snacks in open bins so you can buy in bulk, like candy. You could make your own doggie treat mix!
There were lots of stocking ideas for the entire family, too. I was able to find a few things for A1 from her list (a collapsible umbrella, coca-dusted almonds, a magazine, and mouthwash) and some things for Bubbles (a purse, a toothbrush set, a book for Christmas Eve, and some binkies that were on clearance). I didn’t have much luck for A2 and only some chocolate peanut clusters for hubs. There were a few things for my mother-in-law, though!
If you need baking supplies or other cooking gear there’s a ton of that, too. They have some special holiday flavors that I hadn’t seen elsewhere, like Candy Cane and Gingerbread Jell-O pudding. And I saw this awesome Cinderella Gingerbread Castle Kit that I so wanted to buy, but Bubbles is still just a tiny bit young for it. I hope they have them available again next year!
