Trying to keep on top of your own appointments, to-do lists, and other required activities can be hard enough.  Keeping yourself organized plus keeping the entire family’s schedules straight – that can be hugely stressful!  One is going to piano lessons, another is heading to basketball practice; Mom has a doctor’s appointment, Dad has to make dinner.  Plus the baby will need a few feedings and diaper changes in there.  But who’s counting, right?

Organize Your Life & Family With FamilyDen

A new site and iPhone app called FamilyDen is now live and ready to help you manage all those appointments – plus a whole lot more.  You can add grocery and to-do lists, appointments and events (even recurring ones).  You can tag each calendar entry with the family members that it applies to so everyone knows where they need to be at any given time.  It also makes it nice because then the kids know who is driving them where, so if things change they can get in touch with the right person (less phone tag is always good).  There is an option to color-coordinate the entries, as well; each family member could have their own color, or you could label event types (birthdays, school events, doctors’ appointments, etc.).

Organize your life & family with FamilyDen

Meal planning is made a little easier with the family menu section.  In addition to being able to add a menu listing to each day, there’s also a storage area for adding recipes you’d like to try (or ones that you want to add to your permanent rotation).  Items needed for your meals that week will automatically add themselves to your grocery list, too!  If you need a little inspiration, the site helps you out with a few recipe suggestions to get you started.

Organize your life & family with FamilyDen

There are also a couple of features that really set FamilyDen apart from other organizing sites or apps.  First is the social media monitoring.  You can add each family member’s Facebook page and FamilyDen will scan the messages for suspicious language.  They will then be flagged and you’ll be alerted so you can review the message.  Second is the GPS check-in feature.  Want to make sure the kids got home from school or arrived safely at the mall?  Have them check in so you know.

I love the mix of features FamilyDen has to offer.  I really love the meal planning section as that’s something I’ve been hoping to get into a little more (and hoping for fewer weekly trips to the grocery as a result).  And as someone who loves a good list or label I really like the color-coding, too.  This is a tool I can definitely see us using.

How do you keep track of your family’s schedules?

I received a promotional item to thank me for my time in sharing this information.  All opinions, as always, are 100% that of myself and my family.
