Disney/Pixar’s BRAVE is in theaters now, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still hard at work with new projects.  One of their next films will be Monsters University, the prequel to the highly-praised Monsters, Inc.  Directed by Dan Scanlon (Cars) and produced by Kori Rae (Up, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc.), the film unlocks the door to how Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) and James P. Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman) overcame their initial differences and became best of friends.

Disney/Pixar's Monsters University

We are really looking forward to the film.  Monsters, Inc. is one of my all-time favorite movies.  Between Mike’s jokes, Sully’s soft heart, Boo’s adorableness, the surprise ending – there was nothing about it we don’t like.  We own it on DVD and watch it now and then.  Bubbles loves the monsters and giggles right along with Boo.  Hopefully we will be able to take her to see the new one in the theater!  The film opens on June 21st, 2013 and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D in select theaters.  While it’s almost an entire year away, the first trailer has been released!  There are four slightly different versions; this one is the “Clothes” one.

You can also head over to the Monsters University Facebook page and see three other version of the trailer.  Vote for your favorite and the winning line from the fan favorite will be drawn by a Pixar artist and shared exclusively with Monsters University Facebook fans!

  1. I can’t wait to see it!!!

  2. Looks so good! I’m not sure if we’ll see it. My daughter was terrified of Monsters Inc. for some reason.

  3. I love Monsters Inc., but sadly, it still scares my kids so I may catch this on my own 😀
