I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Duracell.  I received Duracell Quantum batteries product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

It seems like more and more gadgets and gizmos need batteries these days.  And when you have both a teen and a toddler it seems like the number goes up even higher.  Between remotes, hand-held games, flashlights, and toys, we go through a lot of batteries.

During the holidays our battery usage goes up even more so I try to make sure I have plenty on hand.  Telling folks they can’t switch over to the football game or telling a toddler that they can’t play with their new toy because we’re out of batteries isn’t really going to go over all that well.  And if the power happens to go out during the dark days and nights of winter you want to be prepared with flashlights and battery-powered candles.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been trying to get Bubbles to tell us what she wants to be for Halloween.  Every time we’d talk about it, though, she would declare that she just wanted to be “a kid” for Halloween.  I showed her costumes of all her favorite characters: Rapunzel, Cinderella, Tinker Bell, even an Angry Bird’s costume for girls.

No go.

Finally Bubbles decided she wanted to be a puppy (not sure if that was the influence of the Bubble Guppies Halloween episode, or not, but hey).  Except I hadn’t seen a single puppy in all our trips to various costume departments.  Looking online didn’t provide a lot of help; really, the only site I’d have enough turn around time to order from was Amazon, and there was a surprising lack of decent puppy costumes there, also.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of P.F. Chang’s. All opinions are 100% mine.

Prior to moving to Louisville, I had never eaten at a P.F. Chang’s.  It’s one of Ashley’s favorite restaurants, though, so just before Christmas that first year here, the four of us all went there for dinner.

P.F. Chang’s has such a beautiful atmosphere.  As soon as you walk in you feel like you’re some place special.  And while I wasn’t sure I’d care for the menu, as I’m a little choosy when it comes to my Chinese food, I ended up pleasantly surprised.

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Social Moms and Tai Pei.  All words and thoughts are my own.

Up until I was a sophomore in high school, I would have told you that I didn’t like Chinese food.  I know, right?  For most of my tween and early teen years I was what you might call a picky eater.  At that point I hadn’t even tried anything from a Chinese menu – other than French fries – but I was sure I wouldn’t like it.

Then my friends and I participated in a scavenger hunt contest and won a gift certificate to a local Chinese restaurant.  I went planning to eat some fries and instead was talked into trying a few things from the buffet.  To my surprise, there were a number of things that I enjoyed: fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, beef & broccoli.

This post on gift giving is sponsored by Those Media Girls and pick UR gift.  All words and opinions are my own.

For me, gift giving is a lot of fun.  I really enjoy going down my list, considering the likes and hobbies of each recipient, and then finding an item that’s really going to make them smile.  It doesn’t even have to be the “perfect” gift – just something I know they’ll love or enjoy.

When I shop, I have a tendency to do so in order of ease of gift selection.  So by the time I get to the bottom of the list the gift giving process becomes a little less fun and a little more stressful.  Fortunately I’ve just discovered a gift giving site that might just add the joy back.
