Gooseberry Patch Book “The Christmas Table”

I’ve mentioned before that we are huge Gooseberry Patch fans in our house. I’ve also previously shared a couple of reviews of their books, and today I have another one to introduce to you! I get excited each time I get a new Gooseberry Patch book because they’re filled with wonderful recipes and lots of personal stories. Their Christmas books also include tips, decorating ideas, memories, and more. The newest one, “The Christmas Table“, is no exception.
This book has a lot of my favorite features – like those mentioned above – and also have some new twists. There’s a section for “Festive Holiday Fare” that includes some non-traditional foods like BBQ Wontons and Japanese-Style Chicken Wings. We’re fairly traditional with our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meals, but I love that these are included because I can definitely see trying them for New Year’s Eve!
The decorating ideas are fun, too. Like the suggestion to tuck silverware into clean mittens and use a scarf as a table runner. That would be perfect for a sledding party or even a hot chocolate bar. And instead of traditional luminaries, they give the suggestion of filling galvanized pails with sand and centering a fat pillar candle in each. Tie a bow around each and use them to line your driveway or porch steps to welcome your guests (or encourage carolers to stop by!).
If you love Gooseberry Patch books, then you’ll love this: one lucky winner will receive a copy of “The Christmas Table” to add to their library! Giveaway closed.
